PLT2 Ink

FEATURES:
It is a single-component ink that can also be used with two components.
It has a glossy appearance and an excellent covering power and is quick drying.
Non-toxic ink (NT) in compliance with the EN 71/part 3 European standard.

PRINTING SUPPORT:

It can be utilised for the printing on all kinds of thermoplastic materials.
It is particularly indicated for stiff PVC, ABS, polyethylene (at high or low pressure) and pre-treated polypropylene.
It can also be utilised on thermosetting resins, metals and enamelled surfaces.
The surface stability and other characteristics are improved with the addition of a catalyst.

RESISTANCE:
Excellent adherence on the materials given and a very good mechanical and chimical resistance (alcohol, detergents, greases and petrol)
Good stability at high temperatures.
Excellent resistance to light with a 7 to 8 DIN solidity.

Flash point:
Higher than 21°C

PREPARATION:
Mix and strongly dilute the ink by using the PLA thinner in the measure of max. 10-20%.
When printing fine details or screened images (e.g. 80/ 120 lines per cm) in warm environments, we recommend you add the PLD retardant in a minimum percentage.

CAUTION!
Excessive dilution generates a loss of the covering power, smudges and an imperfect detachment of the ink from the pad. An insufficient dilution causes problems of drawing the ink from the cliché, printing repeatability and dripping of the ink with a consequent decline of the printing quality.
To increase the mechanical and chemical resistance or adherence to the support, the ink can be used as a two-component ink by adding the special PLH catalyst in a 10:1 ratio (10 parts ink and 1 part catalyst).

CAUTION!
The ink used as a two-component ink must be consumed within 8-10 hours or afterwards it gradually loses its mechanical-chemical resistance and its ability to adhere to the support.

DRYING AND HARDENING
The drying time lasts between 1 and 2 minutes at an ambient temperature of about 20°C.
If you would like it to dry in only a few seconds, you can use hot air circulation ovens (60-80 b °C) or high temperature spot devices (air or infrared rays) that can be installed on the piece feeding systems (e.g. rotary tables, conveyors, etc.).
The ink is completely hardened after 24 hours.

COLOUR RANGE:
Consult the COMEC colour chart of matt hues that includes a selection of 14 standard colours plus 4 transparent colours in Euro scale for four-colour and 9 PANTONE shades.
All of the colour shades can be mixed with each other.
Upon request:

  • special sample colours.
  • metallic gold and silver shades ready for use.
ADDITIVES:
PLA thinner.
PLD retardant.
PPLD retardant paste.
PLH catalyst.

PRESERVATION:
Lifetime of about 2 years.
Conditions for preservation: the package must be sealed tight and put in a dry and cool environment.

ATTENTION
The PLH catalyst must be preserved with the package sealed tight and put in a dry and cool environment. IT IS NOT MOISTURE-PROOF. In the event it should become thick, it can no longer be used.
